OUR CURRENT PROJECTS
(1) Manual Edits
Emeline & Lara (FACILITATORS)
Editors: Emily, Kelley, Ada, Jen, Chris, Emily (1Sky), Joe
Photo Editors: Robert, Meg
Final Editors: Larry, Joan, Lara, Emeline
This manual is a guide for the average DC citizen on how to live more sustainably.
If you would like to help with editing, please contact EMELINE by clicking on MEMBERS and sending her a message.
(2) Local Shops/Restaurants incentive
Brie (FACILITATOR)
Andrea
Researching distributors that sell recycled, reusable, and biodegradable goods that are the most inexpensive and local. They are bargaining special rates for DC stores with these distributors, and are creating a 1-page document to share with stores (restaurants, stores, retail) on sustainable options.
If you would like to help with research on sustainable "to-go" options, please contact BRIE (me) by clicking on MEMBERS and sending me a message.
(3) Legislative "litter" bill
Bob (FACILITATOR)
Joe, Jen, Kelley, Brie, Lisa, Larry
Bob is leading this project to pass a DC ?Litter? Bill that will include recycling, reusable options, banning plastic, etc.
New Ideas:
-charging trash pick-up by the pound as incentive for residents to recycle.
-defining new ways to handle landfills, as trash is not decomposing, but being preserved in the dense pile
-ways to promote composting (sending off to local farms, using methane as energy resource)
If you would like to help research, please contact BOB SUMMERSGILL by clicking on MEMBERS and sending him a message.
